Courses & Training

Training courses at the Centre for Sustainable Living include include Green Skills accredited training in home sustainability assessment, Certificate IV in land management, chainsaw operation and negotiation skills.

Perth based universities regularly deliver field trips at the Centre as part of their sustainability courses.

Home Sustainability Assessment
Accredited Training

This 6 day course trains people to undertake home sustainability assessments. Are you a:
- tradesperson
- consultant
- local council employee
- state government agency employee
- employee of a water or energy provider
- horticulturalist/landscaper
- or other individual with an interest in sustainability assessment?
This course is for you!

The course comprises of three units:
1. Conduct sustainability assessments in residential dwellings VPAU227
2. Participate in workplace safety procedures BSBCMN211A
3. Deliver a service to customers BSBCMN208A
The training units will be delivered in a holistic way emphasizing the practical application of skills in simulated and work environments to plan and conduct home sustainability assessments. The course was commissioned by the department of Sustainability Victoria and developed by Homesglen TAFE in that state. The training is accredited under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).
