December 2004: The official opening:
After all the usual last-minute problems and delays, the official opening of the Centre for Sustainable Living was held on Friday, the 10th of December, 2004. More than fifty people, including staff, workers involved in the renovations and committee members turned up for a sundowner at the centre. Food was available from a traditional Aussie barbeque and and a band was on hand to entertain the guests.
So now the centre is officially 'in business' and looking forward to the future. If you are interested in holding an event with us, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
January 2005: On-going improvements:
The demonstration solar space heating and cooling system is currently being installed. Solar panels are being mounted on the building. Heated air will be fan-assisted through ducting in the ceiling space and directed into rooms needing heating through ceiling vents. Venting of the ceiling space for summer space cooling will be installed at the same time.
Distribution of the information brochure and price list is now being undertaken. If you would like updated information please contact the centre by phone (9848 3310) or email
